Spatializing sense of place, social capital and civic engagement

The sense of place, social capital and civic engagement are important human concepts with a spatial dimension that nowadays are spatially hidden in the smart city. We facilitate a web-map based application that spatializes their localities. Our app allows the better understanding of citizens "spatialities" to all the city stakeholders of a given city. In this repository, we provide the direct link to the web application service named "Place and City", and also the code-base for the web application both from the front-end development part and the back-end software environment. The web-app is available just by clicking on the item name. More details on the codes can be seen by clicking on the items. The codes are downloadable for further use by anyone interested. Also provided in this repository, is a short video description of what the application does, for a quick overview of the "Place and City" application. Currently, the services are prepared for Lisbon city.
